Each Virtual Website Rental or Lease comes with a personal domain name registration with the address that you choose to represent you, your business or special event.
Call it a "dot-com name," a URL or whatever you choose to call it, a domain name is the part of a network address that identifies it as belonging to a particular Web Property or "website". In essence, it's the cornerstone of your online presence.
Choosing a Domain Name:
A Personalized Domain Name is required to rent or lease any of our Virtual Properties. Domain Registration is free for all Web Properties. This is true whether you are choosing a Domain Name for the first time, or transferring a registered one to use with your Virtual Web Property rental or lease.
Domain FAQ 1. Who chooses my Personalized Domain Name?
URL's are the address to your Virtual Property location. It is highly recommended that you choose the Domain Name that best fits the nature of your Virtual Property. For example: If you are advertising shampoo, you would want a Domain Name such as www.myshampoo.com.
2. When I vacate my Virtual Property rental or lease, what happens to my Personalized Domain Name?
You will have the option of purchasing your Domain Name if your rental or leasing period is less than 6 months. The price of the Domain purchase is less than $27. The average Domain Name purchase is $17.99.
3. If I decide to purchase my Domain Name, how will I have access to it?
Because we actually sell Domain Names, you will be provided with your own GriotSites Estore Account containing your registered Domain Name. Because we want you to always have access to your Domain Name, your Estore Account will remain open until you physically close it.
4. Will my Domain Name be registered to me or GriotSites?
All URLs are registered by a Virtual Property Specialist in a corporate account. Although Domain Names are registered and housed in our corporate account, we will register the Domain Name in the Renter or Leasee's name. This makes it easier to transfer the Domain to a Virtual Tenant once the purchase is made.
5. Can I purchase my Domain Name during the rental or leasing application process?
No. You may request to purchase your Domain Name during the end of your rental or lease agreement.
